Quantitative Modeling in Biological Systems (1Ects)

The teaching talks of the applicants for the new professorship "Quantitative Modeling in Biological Systems" (joint between the Faculty of Mathematics and the Max F. Perutz Laboratories) will be organized as a two-day mini lecture series. The talks will be about the role of "Big Data in Biomathematics", and they are aimed at first year Master's students of both Mathematics and Biology. All six lecturers are first-rate researchers from internationally recognized institutions.


When:  
Thursday, June 6 and Friday, June 7 (all talks will be before noon, but exact schedule is to be determined)

Lecture Halls A and B, Vienna Biocenter 5, 1030 Wien

Jörg Menche, Angela Relogio and Stefan Legewie on June 6
Ana Smith, Martin Meier-Schellersheim and Steffen Waldherr on June 7

Visiting all six talks of the series and helping the student's representatives with evaluating the didactic skill of the lecturers will count as an 1-ECTS "Elective in Biomathematics" for the Master Mathematics at the University of Vienna.
